The library has been divided into different sections for its smooth functioning:
Acquisition Section: The collection of documents is very important for any library. Textbooks, Reference books are purchased on the recommendation of the teachers and approval of the Principal. Located on the first floor of the library, this section acquires books and other reading material.
Stack Section: The library has closed access in the Stack Section but open access is allowed in Textbook and Reference Section. Students are permitted to visit the stack if required. 02 students are allowed into the Stack Section under the guidance of the library staff, strictly adhering to Covid- 19 Protocol.
Circulation Section: Barcode Facility is used for issue and return of books. This section is located on the Ground Floor. The timings of issue and return of books are 10:30 a.m. to 04:00 p.m. on all working days.
General Opening Hours of the sections: 10:00 AM to 05:00 PM for Reading and Reference. Late fines at the rate of Rs. 5/= per day will be charged per day.
In some of the books "Not to be issued" is written those books cannot be issued, it can be used for reading purposes only.
Books from this Stack section may be taken outside of the section area for reading and photocopying purposes only and for that students have to submit their ID cards with the book card available from inside the book.
In case of any type of fine, the same is to be deposited at the circulation counter and the receipt is to be produced in the section for settlement.
Remember - Your ID is essentially required for all Checkouts. We cannot make exceptions for Checkouts.
Text Book Section: This Section is located on the First Floor. Textbooks are the most reliable source of information to the faculties and the students, especially for course/syllabus-related reading. The section has syllabus-related textbooks. The books for this section are purchased generally on the recommendation from different faculty members through the concerned Department In-charge. One book from the Text Book Section can be issued for overnight, only on Saturday. The books of this section may be returned from 10:30 AM to 1 PM only.
Reference Section: The reference collection consists of encyclopaedias, dictionaries, handbooks, technical data, almanacs, atlases, bibliographies, etc.
Periodical Section: The library subscribes 52 journals, 07 magazines, and 12 newspapers. Periodicals Section is located on the ground floor of the library, and it makes all available journals, magazines, etc. The opening hours of the section are 10:00 AM. To 04:00 PM. Current magazines, periodicals are in the reading room are displayed may be issued for reading providing an Identity Card for overnight (only on Saturday) reading. Scholarly journals are also available in the library which can be taken for reading and photocopy inside the library. Periodicals are bound for future reference. Users can access this on request.
Technical Section: Before the reading material is made available for use on the stacks, it is technically processed in this Section, located on the first floor of the library. The library uses Colon Classification, 6th revised edition, and AACR2 for cataloguing of books and updates the SLIM database for the users through WEB OPAC.
Photocopy Section: Photocopy can be done by the users by paying Rs. 1 per copy and copyright should not be violated.
Knowledge Centre: This section is located on the First Floor of the Library. The section houses the main server, 42 computer systems, scanner, and printer. This section provides e-resource through NLIST and the internet facility.
The timing for the Knowledge Centre is from 10:30 AM to 05:00 PM.
Students have to sign at the register before using any system. Maximum two students are allowed in a single system and they can use maximum of 1 hour however they have to vacate the system if the library staff asks. Users can search their required books in the SLIM database through the OPAC. The guideline is displayed on the Notice Board. Pen Drives are not allowed in the Knowledge Centre. Students can take their required file with the attachment in their mail. Users should use the centre for their academic work only. Social sites are strictly prohibited in the centre. Printing up to a maximum of 10 pages is allowed but users have to provide standard A4 size paper for the work.

Web OPAC: All the documents/books etc. of the library are searchable through the Library's Online Public Access Catalogue. Users can locate any book from the section through Author, Title, Subject, Keyword, etc., just by visiting the OPAC of the Library website through link:
Reference and Readers' Advisory Service: Anyone is welcome to avail of this service at the Reference Desk on the Ground Floor. This service is available on all working days. User Education Programme and Information Literacy Programmes are regularly conducted in the library for the new as well as for the existing students for effective use of resources.
